pacers

For our 100-miler and 50-miler runners, pacers play a vital role in providing support, motivation, and companionship during the race.

100miler pacers

Pacers Joining Point

Pacers are allowed to join runners from the turnaround point at Benvie Gardens (checkpoint 5), enhancing the overall race strategy and runner morale.

Each participant can have up to 4 pacers. However, only one pacer can accompany a runner at any given time.

Pacer Swaps

Pacers can be swapped out at any major aid station or designated viewpoints accessible to crew and spectators. Remember that only one pacer can be on the course with a runner at any time, so plan your swaps strategically.

Pacer Gear & Responsibility

Pacers must carry the same compulsory gear as runners, as detailed on the runner's gear list. They can assist their runners in various ways, except by physically pushing, pulling, or carrying them. Pacers are also prohibited from "muling," meaning they cannot carry compulsory items or provide nutrition and hydration for the runner. When swapping pacers at Water Points, note that runners cannot refuel or receive 'aid station' type support, and pacers cannot start their section with extra food for the participant.

Pacer Registration

Registration for pacers opens on 1st August 2025 and closes on 1st September 2025. Each pacer must run with a "pacer" number supplied at registration, which should be exchanged when pacers swap out. It's up to you and your pacer to ensure they are registered and have all necessary details to join you on the course.
